A ten-hole chromatic harmonica in G that I picked up at an estate sale. It had a few problems- the comb was cracked in half, as well as fractured where the spring for the slide is retained. In addition, several notes were pretty messed up, a number of leather windsavers were missing, and whole mess was being held together by scotch tape.
It was simple enough to glue the comb back together, and new brass screws slayed the tape. Unfortunately, one of the reeds won't cooperate, so the harmonica is still missing a tone.
The ten-hole tuning is designed to be the analogue of an ordinary diatonic harmonica- the button sharps every note. When you press it in, alternating shudders block the "natural" reeds and reveal the "sharp" set. I'm not really interested in this tuning- I don't already know how to play diatonic harmonica, and having it in G is just confusing. I decided not to put too much into the thing. I might end up using it as a test subject before mutilating the old 16-hole harmonica I plan to work on next.
